Andy Gilbert

Supreme elegance, here is an absolute monster “Starburst” design from the Gilbert shop – wow…where to begin describing this cue – it is constructed of structural points radiating out from the center of the butt of the cue – the woods and materials used are spalted maple burl, stabilized with a light honey colored dye (Wildwoods), into cored Gaboon ebony, with ivory and abalone inlays – the center section is highly figured burl wood, loaded with ivory outlined abalone inlay shapes and more abalone diamonds and dots, there are also ivory shards pointing back toward the center – the most unusual element are the ivory inlaid points that cut through the ring sets within the spalted burl prongs, giving this an incredible effect – Andy’s famous flat face ivory “short joint” (3/8-10 with a stainless steel pin and ivory tip ala Schick) – there are multiple inlaid ring sets throughout the cue, each consists of an ivory band with alternating larger/smaller abalone dots and multiple black and white stacked rings and stitching on both sides…truly impressive inlaid ring packs – full size ivory butt cap that is engraved and dated – finished off perfectly with a matching set of inlaid joint caps (with all the inlaid rings) for the butt and both shafts – additional pictures are available upon request – this cue was completed for the ICCS in 2008 and is in brand new unplayed condition (100%) – Andy and Vicki really turned it up a notch with this cue…tons of work…and well over 100 inlays !!
